Hi I'm new to this but I have just been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in my rectum, apparently this is unusual as basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer! has anyone else had this ?
Hi
Just want to pop on and welcome you to the forum . How unusual. I have never heard of that . I have heard of it on the face before . I have had two friends who recently had one . One on the face and one on the ear . Both very treatable . Does it mean it is also quite treatable in the rectal area ?
Hopefully you will get a treatment plan soon once Christmas has settled .
However glad you have joined us and hope we can support you as you work your way through this process . Whilst the cell type is different I am sure there will be a lot of common ground on the surgery etc .
take care ,

Thank you for welcoming me,I am seeing a skin specialist this week so they can check all my moles, also I know I have to have surgery to remove the lump but have no date yet,I have been told I might have to have a stomer bag for a while! Feeling really scared at the moment and the waiting is terrible.
