Hello I’m Lindsay diagnosed aug 2023 with bowel cancer and liver mets, on Pallative chemo with CT scans every 6 weeks.

i feel so lonely most of the time and can’t get out much as I can’t drive anymore due to mobility issues. I just need people to talk to who are going through the same as me and feel isolated in their own homes. Need to visit a support group near me to see if this will help I have one nearby it’s just getting there. Please anyone who is out there to talk to most of the time I feel I can cope amd other times I feel so angry that I have to deal with all this. I have a good family and friends to help and talk to but it’s not the same and they don’t really understand what I’m going through. The pain everyday, feeling anxious and terrified about the future. I would appreciate all the help I can get thankyou

Hi Ola

Are you connected with your local hospice. Mine offer at home and on premises sessions, from complimentary therapies thro to coffee and natter.

I am also looking forward to seeing if mine are running any group sessions, esp art or craft therapies!

Hi Ola Please give the support desk a ring? They will be able to see what is available in your area and also any telephone buddy schemes that Macmillan might be running at the moment? If you can find a number for your local support group you could maybe contact them and see if there’s anyone that lives near you who could give you a lift? x

I'm US based so I won't be able to add to the advice already given.

But I want you to know you aren't alone. I often feel quite isolated by mobility issues that leave me stuck at home most of the time. And I'm not dealing with palliative chemo.

My husband is a treasure but he doesn't understand the way another cancer survivor understands. If you would like a pen pal, message me and we can chat.
