Hi everyone
I'm Steph from the Community team
Here is a new thread for carers, family and friends. This is a space for you to chat, share experiences and support each other through issues related to your loved ones bowel cancer. The previous thread will shortly be locked as it was getting rather long which can make it difficult to navigate.
Please remember that we also have other dedicated spaces on the Community for carers, family and friends. These spaces exist so you can support each other away from members of the forum who might be dealing with their own cancer diagnosis:
Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum
You would be welcome to set up another new thread like this in one of the above forums. Please just let us know if you would like any help?
We hope you will continue to find lots of support from each other and the Community. We're here to help, so please do let us know if you have any questions or support needs by emailing us at community@macmillan.org.uk
Fab news about the chemo I am so pleased for you and Simon. No night away for you both. Just keep safe.
yep I thought you were bonkers getting a puppy and now look what I have done. Rufus just had a bath, not happy and a hair dryer on, not happy. Gosh I thought my house was lovely and clean but not anymore it just smells of wet dog and poop lol. Got probiotic cream off the vet to give him for his tummy once a day until he settles. He is still eating and drinking. I can’t believe I have made more work for myself. As I said before we lost our chihuahua a year gone Christmas and the house was so spotless and lacked a dog. Only ever had chihuahuas so this is really new to me. Oh well here we go. It is the first time he has had an accident during the night. Can’t even see where the poop is outside for all the leaves lol xx
Aww that's great you are finding a lot of comfort in your doggies just now. Yes being puppies still they are just like babies and will be sick and poop everywhere just stay well stocked up on disinfectant and Febreze. Oh the biting stage Maggie a few TV remote controls and slippers/shoes have gone to the wall with that just their wee teeth coming in. If you can remember if they have a favourite chew toy stick it in the fridge or freezer for a couple of minutes to let it go cold and it will cool their gums down as they will be red raw just now with the teeth coming through. Wishing you both well as usual with your tests etc for Simon and Les. Take Care.
Vicky xx
Thanks Vicky I will put a few things in the fridge to cool down. He is a bit all to sorts today after yesterday and today so have to feed him little and often. He does bring us joy but the poop doesn’t lol. He is lively and clean now and all fluffed up.
Oh my goodness he is beautiful just want to cuddle him but he does look cheeky xx
Jkee Hugo is gorgeous as well. RUFC’s is not really curly at all especially when he is brushed he has straight hair. Bedding all washed and he seems loads better in himself. Let us see what tonight brings. How can we not love those faces the cheeky little monkeys. When he drinks there is water everywhere where it drips off his beard. So pleased I have no carpets lol xx. Just love Hugo. How tall is he xx
