Hi all, thank you for accepting me. My husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. At present I am not accepting it, it makes me feel sick, panicky, shaky etc. it was a complete shock.  Anybody else in the same situation.  Many thanks

  • Afternoon Maggie My sister goes to church in fact has for years Simon never would I went along for a coffee and felt very emotional it was very upbeat and people were so kind it did help. I have always found Sundays boring even when the kids were little tough day for many today hugs to everyone x

  • Good evening ladies, got through today with a lot of tears this morning but ok. I have committed to do the Mighty MacMillan half marathon walk next month with Sally so will be trying to raise some money as they were brilliant looking after Kevin and it gives us something to focus on. Better get my trainers out and get walking!!

Hope you have all enjoyed Father’s Day, we ended up just getting pizzas with Paul, Sally and family as couldn’t face going to the pub and seeing happy families!!

    Picking Kevin’s ashes up tomorrow.

    Helen x

  • Helen tomorrow will be sad for you but you can have him back home and swear at him for leaving.  Apparently the consultant said if you are frustrated etc have a good swear and cry. I don’t really do either even when I feel like it which is no good for me. Good for you doing the half marathon.  Trainers on and ready to train. GO HELEN xx

jkee. We are asked all the time to go to church with the Nigerian psychiatrist.  We have been twice when we were godparents for their children and I loved it. Les said god like me and I like god that is the way it is staying.

I do hope everyone else is coping. Huge hugs maggie xx

  • Evening Helen what a good idea I always have wanted to do something for macmillan think you will feel amazing training for them as we to would like to give something back not sure my knees would agree. Well done for today xx

  • I'm in exactly the same place. I've known 1 month about my husbands stage 4 bowel cancer. I feel so ill inside and every morning when I wake up its like a sledgehammer in the face. Feels like hell. So I really understand where you're coming from.

  • Not sure mine will!!

  • Hi Helen. If you would like to put a link on here I would be happy to sponsor you.

Bobbins. I have found a lot of comfort since I have joined this thread. It is good to know you are not alone although I would not wish this journey on anyone.

We have had a good day today, this morning son No 1 called in and then we went to see son No 2 for dinner and to watch the Grand Prix.  Barry didn’t eat any dinner but did manage 3 Crackers. Hoping for another good day tomorrow.

    Sleep tight everyone. Pauline. Xxx

  • I could really do with a bit of that comfort thanks for your comment  Slight smile

  • Hi ladies ,

I will check with Macmillan but I think they encourage you not to use any links with your personal details on the forum . As it’s public others can gain access to your private information. Sounds cautious I know but unfortunately a lady did just that when I first joined years ago and some person contacted her .

I will check if you can do it through PM for you .

Take care and sorry to intrude .
