Hi everyone, my bowels  movements changed a long time ago but the last few months it has got worse, I spoke to my doctor he said it’s ibs , but then I left it again , so yesterday I decided to speak to a female doctor and she said it need investigating in case it’s serious now I am worried I can’t cope with this x

  • Hi . I won’t tell you not to worry because I know how difficult that would be but thoughts are not facts and there’s nothing to be gained by worrying about it being bowel cancer until you know if it is or not. It’s good that your doctor is being vigilant because you need to confirm what the problem is so it can be treated. Is she arranging for you to have a colonoscopy? Only 1/10 colonoscopies turn out to be bowel cancer - it could be ibs, crohns, colitis, diverticulitis - but a colonoscopy will help identify the problem.

Please stay away from google and don’t get ahead of yourself. If, and it’s a big if, it does turn out to be bowel cancer then it is very treatable and we will help and support you through your treatment.
Please keep posting and let us know how you get on?

    Take care
