Hi
just wanted to know if anyone can help me know when the bottom pain ends .
I had op on 30th July and 11 days in hospital.
stoma is doing well and belly /muscle pain all but gone .
Bottom was getting better day by day but last Thursday started up again resulting in my needing paracetamol again the pain is like a burning pain and I get electric shocks and stabbing pains .
been to gp today to check no infection or abscess .
how long do others find pain lasts
Hi Gin & Tonic
I remember getting lots of different sensations from my sewn up rear end after having my rectum removed. Some of it may be your nerve endings wakening up after surgery.
I'm currently getting sharp stabbing pains after surgery to my vaginal area and for about 5 weeks after surgery it felt like the whole area was on fire, like nerves super sensitive but it did eventually calm down.My consultant told me to keep dosing up on paracetomol to help. Again this is due to nerve endings and how your body is adjusting to having the surgery. Unfortunately healing can take a long time but you will get there.
I wish you a speedy recovery. Take care.
