  • Hi Everyone.

You may have been aware that I had become increasingly concerned with my mum’s mobility . Shoulders stooped, knees bent , and very fragile looking all of a sudden ! Her neighbour commented she was concerned too!
I went in the other day to find her doing so much better , significantly! I think her neuropathy has really been aggravated in a way it has not before . She has been finding her confidence in walking reduced but by chance put on a pair of fitflop trainers I bought her last year . The padded sole and lace up shoe has given her the stability she needs . She is no longer getting the same sensations when she walks and is absolutely delighted . She is straight again and walking much better . She is amazed that shoes have assisted her so much !

So she is going to stick with them ! Not a advertisement just a reality !

Wondering if it’s the new meds or just the pandemic which has created the problem but happy to have made progress .

Hope your all having a good day !

  • Aww that’s great news . I found the Sketchers range to be good too as they have memory foam insoles x

Funnily enough I bought my mum, who suffers from hip pain and bunions, a pair of Sketchers for her birthday. They help tremendously with both conditions and are hardly ever off her feet!

Wonderful, !  It sounds like those fit flops have given your mum the stability and confidence she needs!

  • You know I don’t actually remember any discussion on appropriate footwear for neuropathy on the forum . Maybe we should be discussing this a bit more !

Hope you have all had a good day .

  • Interesting, perhaps I ought to look at these shoes, fitflop  or sketchers, tend to stick to Clark's as they have width fittings. I take a H, would these others be wide enough?

I haven’t used Fitflop but Sketchers definitely would be wide enough - I’m an H width fitting too and I have 2 pairs of Sketchers, so comfy I wear one of those pairs as slippers!

  • Hi   I am not quite sure what size an “ H” looks like but initially I found them quite visually wide looking but so comfortable I wear them a lot now . Grinning
My husband was just saying what a difference it has made to her posture . Just wondering if the new meds impacted her neuropathy. But the cushioning in the shoes is working a treat ! Just about to order her another pair . She is using the “Ralley” trainers which lace up but thick cushioned sole ! But it looks more like a shoe ! They actually have very good sales too which can be returned.

Sunshine and some snow here !
    Strange weather !

    Have a good day !

Ooh that cake looked wonderful! And as I’m actively trying to put on the two stone I lost from my reaction to CAPOX, I could eat a whole one, guilt free! Silver linings and all that... Joy I’ve been out of hospital nearly four weeks now and slowly building up my strength again, it’s been slow going but all going in the right direction x

I agree that Sketchers are great- my 90 year old mum wears nothing else on her feet these days xx

  • Oh my goodness what a time you have had ! I am so glad you are heading in a good direction now and if you lived nearer I would make you a cake and send it straight round .

But that sounded really tough . What a reaction you had .
Hope your getting some sunshine , rest and lots of calories.

    Take care ,
