GORGEOUS looking cake, Court!!

I’ve been marking the first day of each month by photographing the changes in my damson tree, which my friends gave me for my 50th Birthday ten years ago! I won’t bore you with the Jan-March photos... nothing but bare branches. But look what April has brought...I get so much joy just looking at it!

I do wish you lived nearer @Court so I could pop round for coffee and, oh a slice of cake?, well if I must! My mum often used to do a fruit cake at Easter and cover it in marzipan. We’re going up to visit tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Your tree is lovely . Was it quite small when you were given it? I’m pretty certain that the 2 that have just finished flowering in our garden aren’t white lilac like we were told! I scanned them into the app in my phone and it said they could be white cherry or almond - I’ll have to try again now the leaves are coming. Lots of magnolias about which look lovely too. 

Hope the sleety showers forecast for next week don’t spoil things

ps where did March go?

Yes, it was just a sapling when I first had it and it’s only been producing blossom for the past few years. It was a joy to see the first year it appeared, and has been every year since! There’s quite a strong breeze here today and already we’re seeing some blossom petals on the lawn, so yes- I hope the weather doesn’t make short work of the blossom!

The blossom is absolutely beautiful  . I just love watching them bust into life ! Great idea . Might copy that next year . 
Gosh if we lived nearer we could have a proper Macmillan coffee morning !! And you would all be invited ! . I would bake but get easily distracted with the whole tea and coffee aspects !.
