Hi Truck If it’s regarding the suggested follow up treatment then it could be worth contacting the Clatterbridge Hospital regarding Papillon treatment?

It explains it in the link but it’s a way of treating small rectal tumours with no spread by using radiotherapy and hopefully avoiding major surgery and a stoma

Is the Papillion treatment offered on the NHS or do you have to go private

Hi truck. Sorry only just noticed your post.  Papillon is internal radiotherapy which is offered to treat tumours of 3cm or less.  Clatterbridge in Liverpool offer this. They also have a private clinic. I had 3x sessions in July 2025. If you qualify I would highly recommend you go for it. Prof. Myint and his staff are wonderful, the best care you can get. The treatment is completely pain free and no noticeable side effects.  There is nothing to lose by having the treatment and it can result in you having complete removal of the tumour without surgery. I was, unfortunately one of the 30% of patients who have a recurrence. I had an APR in March this year. Go for the Papillon. I wish you the very best on your journey

Thank you I have only just picked this up my polyp was cancerous and it measured 4cm and no margins to remove healthy tissue will I still be eligible for this treatment
