Hi any tips on managing after this surgery would be really helpful.
I read a pregnancy pillow is a must I presume that’s because being on your back at first is sore?
any tips very much welcomed
Hi BradleyJ I had a different operation but hopefully someone’s who’s had an APR will be along shortly. I think it is pressure on the anus which has been sewn up which is the most uncomfortable part and a valley cushion is recommended. I think they’re expensive to buy but you could see if your local hospital or mobility shop loans them out?
Hope it goes well - it’s a big op but my friend had one 9 years ago, recovered quickly and leads a normal life nowadays
Take care
