I have just had a colonoscopy having had a fit test of>400. They found a large malignant “structuring tumour in the upper rectum/rect/sigmoid junction.” Biopsies were taken and I’m now waiting for an appointment and presumably a scan.
As you can imagine I am very concerned. I was just wondering if other people here have had similar findings and what their experiences have been.
Sounds familiar. If you click on my name you will find a personal account of detection, treatment, recovery and timescale. It does not mean that you will follow the same route but offers a general insight into what might happen.
I suggest that you don't search the Internet for answers unless it is the NHS, these pages and dedicated UK charities.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I realise, of course, that all situations are different but I found this reassuring.
Hi NewMagf0d71f ,
Unfortunately it sounds very familiar. My OH was diagnosed via Colonoscopy last September. Hes had Radiotherapy with Chemo tablets then CAPOX regime - we are now waiting on surgery mid september. See my post CAPOX Journey which has lots of info from others too (+) CAPOX JOURNEY - Macmillan Online Community
However the up side was that it was a lot better tolerated than he expected. The Radiotherapy is tough but that and the Chemo have done their job and its only because there is a small sign of cancer in one lymph node that they are recommending surgery. But everyones journey is different. This forum has been our saving grace - everyone is so helpful and understanding and will offer lots of advice and recommendations to cope with it all.
BUT wait (I know its so hard) until you have the full diagnosis and you will then get some idea of what treatment is needed and can research and talk to people on here.
Good Luck !! Its a club no-one wants to join. Reach out to us anytime. Like Dulac said look at profiles as that will explain more of everyones situations. Im on here because my OH doesnt do forums - but asks me to ask this & that on here. Plus its good for me too xxx
