It seems such a long time since I was told I had bowel cancer (11 months ago). I had a colostomy and then five weeks of chemo/radio therapy. Now I have a date for a Hartman's procedure on the 4th Nov. Such a relief. It all moves so slowly. Now crossing my fingers to hope they don't postpone it.

  • Gosh , that does seem a long time but hopefully it will finally be over very soon for you !

All the very best with your surgery and recovery ! Hope it all goes smoothly!

  • Not happy. We have covid in the house and I tested positive. Op is cancelled date to be announced. It is what it is but I was really looking forward to getting rid of the tumor.

  • Sorry to hear that. How annoying after such a long wait. Hopefully they will slot you in when you are clear. We are on the South Coast and I can't believe how busy my husband's ward is. One chap was in there after waiting 2 years for a reversal. I really think they are trying to catch up.

They put visitors in a spare room with the patient. But on several occasions I haven't been able to visit because every room and bed has been full.

  • I am so sorry to hear this, you've waited so long already. I hope you're not suffering too much with Covid, still seems to take some folk hard. Fingers crossed you make a speedy recovery and you get another date to get that tumour out very soon.

  • Oh dear ! That is rotten !

    Thinking of you !
