Hi everyone, since they told me about liver tumour , I’ve struggled to get positive again.. not sleeping properly, crying lots .. before this I was on top of it , living good life , taking capecitabine no major issues.. but I’m soo despondent about the future , 2 cycles left of capecitabine and then it’s scans to check for anything else hiding .. and if they find anything they won’t operate on liver as they will just be chasing cancer… and I’m struggling with this .. I had 26 lymph nodes clear after tumour was removed.. so this liver tumour was a shock .. as it was found after 4 months chemo! Anyone able to help ??

Stomagirl if it’s any consolation it took me a long time as a relative to see this more as a chronic condition and it was not my body !
What I would say if you need to speak to your Gp to do so . Treating all aspects of your well being can really make a difference.
It is a lot to process and the other thing I used to remind myself of frequently is to stick to the evidence . There is currently no evidence that it is anywhere other than that one location . Totally understandable that people’s minds go to the worst outcomes possible but right now that’s not the case . My mum has seen off ten mets and we have an absolutely fantastic liver unit !
I am glad you have said exactly as your finding your situation as it matters ! I think there are times when you just need someone else to reach out and give you a bit of a lift and encouragement as it’s a difficult diagnosis for sure ! But it has lots of Hope . One area with treatment options !
Keep holding on to the treatment plan !
Macmillan have teamed up with bupa and they offer six free counselling sessions if you feel it would be of assistance .
Take care ,

Thank you court, I needed to hear one area treatment options, so thank you, got clinic to do I will tell them I’m struggling and see wt they say , just need my hope refilled!! No evidence of it anywre else as you say , stick to evidence is really helpful, you do a great job on here , I will think about the counselling, a lot of my struggle is other people and stories of doom I can’t handle that well, sorry
,need to look forward xxxx
Need a big filter when it comes to other people at times . When my mum was in treatment she actually shut herself off to others for a while to keep her mind in a good place . I used to think it was not a great plan but now I see she was protecting her energy a bit . She made up for it when treatment finished .
Glad you are going to chat to your team ! That’s exactly what they are there for !
All the best for tomorrow. Best foot forward and I know your family Motto is still in there !
take care ,
