Dear HazG Waiting for an op is never easy, like you I was diagnosed in December and had the op after Xmas. What are you having done? Keep a paper/pen handy and record any questions you want to ask the team, you don't have to ask any/some/all. What are visiting rules at the moment? Before you go in ensure your 'IT competent with any phone/tablet you take in, they're brilliant for contacting loved ones. Also sort out some decent drinks, you'll be on a drip and eating hardly anything, so nice drinks seem a real luxury. I remember feeling so relieved when pre-op started, it felt like something was being done.
Hope all goes as well as possible - any questiknsfeel free to ask, I'll try my best although my wife's a Dr and tends to give more accurate answers!

Hi sorry for late reply I’m having surgery for bowel cancer mine is very unusual as it decided to grow out through my mucus fistula stoma so I have tumour on my tummy and some behind it in my little bit of bowel I have left after major surgery last year I ended up with an ileostomy and mucus fistula. My surgeon said he’s never seen anything like it in all his years and most people with a tumour that size by now would be dead !
I just want it gone now it’s sore painful and stops me getting on with life
thank you for the tips x
Hi HazG, I am glad to hear you are now having surgery to remove the tumour. I wish you well. It will be great for you when it is all done. You must be a very strong person to carry on with it. I hope you will get through it all without any problems. Isolating is a pain but has to be done to be safe.
All the best to you Hazg, at this time. I had my first meet to discuss my plan today with the team after CT scan and colonoscopy last 2 weeks. I am also in isolation from today, with planned op for bowel cancer(pare removal) on 11th Jan. I am feeling hopeful after weeks and weeks of utter despair.
Hang in there. Sending you best wishes during this difficult time x
Thank you in a lot better position than I was last year when I had surgery and surgeon is not seeing any problems so let’s hope.
how are you ?
Hi HazG,
I am fine thank you. Just waiting to hear back from the hospital regarding the MDT meeting they had last week. I may have surgery on the reoccurance of the bowel tumour. I had the colonoscopy last Saturday and it went ok, the doctor took biopsies and photos so hopefully I will be contacted soon. Dread my phone ringing now!
How is your isolation going?
