Hi. I’ve just stated on this drug as letrozol has stopped working in my bone nets in the spine. Has anyone else has any side effects and how long have people been on this drug for.
Hi Croston71
I don't have any experience with palbociclib but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By responding to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll hopefully be seen by someone who is taking this drug.
I used the group search bar to look for previous posts on this topic and found these. If you click on the link you could have a read through some of them and respond to any where you think the poster may be able to help you further. The most recent poster was so I've tagged them in the hope that they can pop in and tell you about their experiences.
It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi there, I started palbociclib 11 days ago so you are even more experienced than me!!!! I was really nervous about going on it but I have to say I have felt absolutely fine with no side effects.
How are you getting on?
Yvonne
Hi, I’ve got to say I’ve been ok, but tired and swollen ankles but on the whole good.
was you on letrozol first and changed or was yiu put straight on this.
take care Andrea
I’ve been taking palbociclib for two years now. The main side effect is tiredness - particularly in week 3. At the start I suffered with really bad diarrhoea so I was given pills to help with that. I had the dose reduced after a few months as I wasn’t coping with the high dose so they reduced it to 100mg and I can tolerate that.
Hello, I started on Palbocliclib in January 2021 and actually start my 8th cycle today. The only side effects I have had are really bad mouth ulcers (which i think is mostly due to drop in neutrophils) and my hair is thinning quite a bit. I was told that hair wouldn't fall out but it is!
Otherwise, i feel completely fine on it and tolerating it very well - all things considered.

Hi, hair loss can be a side effect of Palbociclib. I’m lucky that my hair was so thick that I used to have it thinned out, now it just thins itself out.
I am in my 4th cycle and also find week three and my week off the most tiring. My skin is dry and itchy but that could be the letrazole or morphine. Other than that im doing well i had more side effects at the very beginning, mouth sores. I also had my dose reduced due to low neutrophils im now on 100 mg. Hope you are managing.Did they reduce your dose?
Oh no ...that blows My hair is also thinning im on 4th cycle.
Hi, yes they reduced my dose to 100mg and I can cope with that.
