Hi

Sue
Hi Susan f I am sorry to hear your news. It is so stressful when you are told that you have bone metastases. Especially when you are doing so well with lung cancer. Radiotherapy can be used to ease pain in the spine, but if this is the same cancer as your lung, they may well use the same treatment for the bone mets, especially if it worked well before. Did you have chemo previously? Bisphosphonates are also sometimes used as a form of pain relief and to strengthen the bones. This can be tablet form or an infusion. So there are lots of options, it will just depend on your team on what they think is best for you.
I know these next couple of weeks are going to be stressful for you, waiting for the PET scan and then the results. The waiting and the fear of the unknown is certainly the worst bit. Please do come here if you need to talk, or the Macmillan support line is available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm on 0808 808 00 00
Good luck for the PET scan, please let us know how you get on x
