I am being treated at Christie Hospital in Manchester where I had Robotic Radical  Prostatectomy (removal of the prostate) in May 2016 without any follow up Radiotherapy or Chemo so as not to cause any damage to my lower intestine.

In May 2019 my PSA level started rising from undetectable to 0.3 then 0.35 and than to 0.48. After some deliberation, I have been put on a Hormone Therapy provided by injection of Prostap every 3 months. This brought my PSA level down to 0.2 and now to 0.15.

I have been reading about other complimentary treatments which include eating well cooked cassava root, eating mint leaves every day (particularly Tulsi). However, the only one that has any trial done is the Radiation Sauna eg I presume heated by direct heat rather than by convection, (but not Radiotherapy).

The trials are only done on mice with some success but no human trails done. So I have used saunas at local gym and found that it made me feel better. Whether it had any affect on the cancer cannot be proved. I wonder if any one has any comments to make on this?

If it helps one type of cancer than it should do so for all cancers.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that your prostate cancer has spread to your bones and it's understandable that you want to try everything possible to cure it.

I don't know if you've seen that you've had a reply from one of the cancer nurses to the last question you posted. If not clicking here will take you to it.

    Best wishes
