Trouble sleeping again

Since my diagnosis of sec. bone cancer, which is pretty wide spread, and then cancer in my liver a month ago - Gosh, it’s only a month.  I can’t remember what life was like without this - I slept very little for two weeks.  Then for these last two weeks I slept quite well and felt much stronger for it.

Tonight/this morning, I have a lot on my mind (think I can feel the cancer spreading and have a reading of leukocytes in urine which I have never had before).  This is my third posting today but wanted to share before I try to sleep again.  I have just laid on my recent purchase of a Massage Mat with Heat which gives a Full Body Vibrating Massage in three controlled sections.  Bliss!  It is gentle which is perfect for my crumbling spine.  Just enough to relax my muscles and ease the discomfort.  I usually lay it on the bed but I have used it while sitting on the settee or recliner.  I find sitting particularly uncomfortable and this has helped me to enjoy a longer good chat with visiting friends.

District nurse coming tomorrow so will be able to share by concerns with her.

Hope you have had a good nights rest,

  • Hi Sue,

Your ‘like’ of my post cheered me up.  Didn’t feel so alone knowing someone had just read it and thought to like it.

Yes, re CDs and talking books.  Been learning mediation with a yoga teacher most weeks and signed up to a mediation app.  I was going to say, just couldn’t focus on them tonight but now you’ve mentioned them, I going to try them.

And yes, you are right, it is the not knowing that makes me feel vulnerable.

Thanks for being here this morning Slight smile

Hope we both get some zzzz.

  • Hi. I have similar problems with sleep. My mind gets carried away with everything from the cancer and worries about my kids and husband. I have discovered badger balm. Its a sleep balm with lavender. Its not too strong smelling and it helps me to relax enough to drift off. You can get it on Amazon for about £8 but its worth it. Xx

  • Thank you for telling me about what helps you sleep.  I have ordered it.  I could do with drifting off now.  My mind is similar to yours in thought.  I have lots of questions and concerns but don’t get to see anyone qualified to discuss them.  Hoped the District Nurse Sister would have helped this morning but when I asked if she could take my temperature, I think I could have a urine infection, she said no. Didn’t have a thermometer.  I said I have checked my urine by stick test, periodically but more frequently now.  For the first time it indicate high levels in three areas.  She told me not to do it.  Results not to be trusted.  (The test strips I use are fresh and used in hospitals). :/

I f you are awake now I will send out thoughts of peace and sleep to you.
