Hello
Been to the hospital this morning and got told that my tumour markers have dropped in three months from 900 to 103 and that my bloods are the best they have been.
On the downside AXA are refusing to pay for any more Palboociclib and I have been referred to the NHS. My private consultant has written to her to ask whether I can access it on the NHS as I am borderline for it. It seems to be working well for me along with the other meds I am on. So I am a little stressed out over that but have to try and stay positive. Hoping you are all doing ok and had a nice Easter xx.
Hey Ellie, it’s good to hear you have had some good news along with no so good news, how do you mean when you say your boarderline for it? Its routinely offered in the NHS now for people who need it, so I’m hoping you get it Ellie, my tumour markers dropped when I was on palbociclib and it’s good to see that it’s working.
ive been hit and miss on this new chemo called capecitabine, first round was quite harsh and I ended up in hospital with chest pain, then my second one I was great, actually sailed through it and the next one I was rushed into hospital with pneumonia, I’ve just about pulled myself together. It actually quite frightened me I was on a litre of oxygen per minute and I was still struggling, I was asked twice if the worse came to the worse do I want reviving and do I want to sign a DNR... my head was spinning I actually thought I was gonna die till my friend said don’t panic the routinely ask you.. I wish I had know! But I’ve just spent a lovely weekend away with my family and my gorgeous grandchildren and that beautiful Easter sunshine was perfect. Keep us informed of their decision Ellie I think you will be fine xx
Hello
Nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear though that you have had such a rough time. I can understand how frightening the whole experience must have been for you especially being asked about the DNR. Glad you feeling better and had a nice weekend with family. Those are the moments that matter. X
