Just been diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma in tibia. Awaiting surgery

  • Hi

Welcome to our online community I hope you find it informative and supportive.

I am Steve one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, my experience with cancer is through my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma - a soft tissue sarcoma so rather different to your diagnosis.

I saw your post did not have any replies yet though I am sure you will have seen there are a number of posts that mention chrondosarcoma. We have quite a bit information here of the main site and there is more on the sarcoma uk website.

Hope you get some news about your surgery before too long and perhaps someone with more relevant experience might share some of their progress too.

    <<hugs>>

    • Thanks Steve, now have a date of 4th March for Limb Saving Surgery at RNOH. Hadn’t realised how rare Primary Bone Cancer is until looked into it in more depth. So grateful that we have such a specialised hospital and surgeons easily obtainable. Hopefully recovery won’t be too long and I and my family can get back to our lives.
  • Hi there. I have extra skeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma. I had limb sparing surgery on 10th Feb, now on the road to recovery I hope and waiting for my results from the margin Fingers crossed

I have so appreciated having this group to turn to for info and like minded people, as like you say this seems to be so rare.

Good luck with your surgery, these surgeons are bloody amazing
