Hi all im so fed-up I had my esophagus taken out because of cancer and thought that was it. I was cancer free and I was for two years but on the 18th of December 2024 found out it was back ive been in so much pain it's in my spine and around diaphragm and in my adrenal gland and it isn't curable so may get some chemo immunotherapy and some radiotherapy to lesson the pain

  • Thank you for the reply

  • Hi Paz.

I am new to this online community so can't offer much advice. I wanted to reply as your story is just like my husband's. He had his oesophagus removed in 2020 and has been cancer free until just a few months ago. It has returned and is in his spine and shoulders. Just before Christmas he had radiotherapy to relieve the pain he was getting in his back. He still has pain at times but nothing like he was having. He is due to start chemotherapy in the next couple of weeks.

I hope you get a treatment plan in place soon. Best wishes.

  • Hello

Another warm welcome to the Macmillan Online community from me, although I am so sorry to find you and your husband here. I do hope the Radiotherapy has done it's job. Just to let you know we have another group you may wish to join and here's the link:

Remember also that our support line is there for everyone on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week).

I hope his chemotherapy goes well and does what is required.

If I can do anything else for you please let me know.

    Best wishes - Brian.
