Hi Lydstep615ba31e and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Morning all I notice that I have received no reply’s to someone on a similar pathway as mine .
my journey started in February when I broke my femur was in traction for 5 weeks waiting for the bone tumour results to come back bynin .
they operated to pin and plate the femur which I thought was fine now 5 months later they say it was nota bynin tumour but a sarcoma and I have to have chemo and they have given me two options after chemo leg salvage or a high knee amputation I am looking for some one who has gone through the same or someone that has come through the other side
I am sorry to hear your journey so far and to see you haven't received any replies yet. I find sarcoma being a rare form of cancer and then the sub types being even more so, it is often hard to find the same or similar people. I have had extra skeletal myxoid chondrsarcoma removed from my right knee/thigh. I don't come on here as much as I should since my surgery. Its been a tough journey so far but I am finally moving in the right direction. My sarcoma was finally scanned in July 2024 and it has been a whirlwind since October which is when confirmation and sub type came through. I had radio therapy from November to Jan and removal and reconstruction Feb 10th 2025. I had a very unsettled recovery with 3 infections so had another surgery May 2025. I am now pretty much healed, cancer free and now working on rehabilitation. Life is very tough right now and even though everyone's journey is different, I am more than happy to discuss anything I have experienced so far with you. I wish you all the luck and positive vibes.
