It was Christmas Day when I was taken by ambulance into hospital with a serious bleed. Following tests I was then diagnosed with aggresive bladder cancer. My first reaction was to tell my four daugters but at the same time begging them not to tell my 97 year old husband. So far he has accepted my numerous hospital appointments without interrogation. I am due for my sixth and final bcg treatment next Wednesday but like another supporter have been feeling very dizzy this week. I hope the final one this week will not make this dizziness worse as I am due to fly to Italy at the end of the week but hoping a relaxing holiday will give my body time to adjust.
Hi Christmas and welcome to the group although sorry to hear you have been feeling the effects of BCG. Not had BCG myself but have been on here long enough to know BCG has various side effects. Dizziness has not come up before but hopefully it will not affect your holiday. Make sure you make sure you make your nurse aware of this at your next treatment to make sure it will not affect your holiday. I hope you get away ok and charge your batteries for what comes next, Best wishes,
so sorry to hear you have been suffering from dizziness I wrote about dizziness on this site a year ago and Rily gave me the same answer that no one had mentioned it previously? So that now makes 2 of us. I will copy and paste what I wrote previously.
“Hi this is my first time posting, not sure if I am doing it right but that will become evident once I have posted. I was diagnosed with T1 high grade in January. After first turpt I got a bacterial infection ecoli, which took 3months and 15 different antibiotics to get rid of. Have just completed the 6th induction bcg with very little side effects. The day after the 6th induction I had the most severe dizziness and vertigo and ended up in hospital. It subsided after 4 days. I read that it was a rare side effect and that’s the only information I can find. Has anyone else suffered this? Was future BCG stopped. Would really appreciate any advice or information”.
i carried on getting dizziness until i had my 6 month break after my 12th treatment, the dizziness then stopped. I am due to start my last three treatments this week and am dreading it coming back. The hospital gave me some anti dizziness pills which really helped, perhaps you could make an appointment with your doctor and ask for some. Also make sure you have good travel insurance!
