Good evening. I've not posted on here so far. Recent diagnosis awaiting a re resection on Xmas eve. But I'm not having a great day today. I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps. Not quite sure how to get myself out of it.

  • Hello  and welcome to this friendly and helpful group although sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down. The early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be the worst but be aware that BC can be treated successfully. The timing of your TURBT is not great but good to know you are having it. You should be home for Christmas Day all being well. Many of us here have been trough it or are going through treatment. Feel free to ask anything or just come and let things out. We understand. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Thank you. This is the second one in a month. I think it's suddenly dawned on me how much I didn't enjoy the aftermath of the last one. I'm not looking forward to another two weeks of catheterisation. It was extremely uncomfortable last time.

  • Hi  . A follow up TURBT is usually a lot less severe as the first. Usually just a mopping up operation with some further biopsies to determine a more accurate diagnosis. I was in and out in several hours. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Welcome to our friendly group Dragonfire.I hope you find it both helpful and supportive.Best wishes for your procedure.Jane

  • I found my second much easier than the first - you may not need catheterising this time. Apart from an over sensitive baldder, for me, the effects of the anaesthetic were the main problem, making me feel a bit woozy for a week or so.

Be a good excuse to rest up over Christmas - hope you have family/friends to look after you. Hope you don't have too long to wait for results.

  • It may not be as bad as the previous experience. The repeats are usually easier.I hope it all goes smoothly with less pain.Jane
