Hi all,
Subject says it all! Now I am back on the daily radiotherapy runs to Southend Hospital.
I have another 8 days to go to end the 23 day course. Following that, maybe chemotherapy and imunotherapy
The cancer has spread to node R4 and that is the one they are currently radiating. When done there will be more CAT scans and a flexible-endoscopy followed by discussion with Dr Maund on my future.
I am here today for some advice although I do know it will be a guesstimate.
I have always wanted an EV and now have an opportunity to acquire one in 3 weeks time. My trouble is, how long am I going to be able to drive for? Doctors will now commit of course, or in my case, even offer a guide - all depends on my reactions to treatments of course.
Any input would be appreciated. I can establish the exact nature of the cancer which is slow growing apparently. I am 86, 87 in October and usually very fit and active.
Hi theno2soco and welcome, but sorry to hear you have had a recurrence after all this time. Good to know you have a treatment plan in place. Radiotherapy continues to work for several weeks after treatment finishes and tiredness can build up. In my case, I had sudden bouts of fatigue that came over me and made me drowsy and needing a nap. Not ideal for driving. Probably a case of playing it by ear and see how you feel even if you have to get the car and garage it until you are fully fit. Best wishes.
