do scan results go up on my chart? I’m due to hear if kidneys etc are ok or not having had cystoscopy showing probable bladder cancer. It’s so scary! Anyone else gone through this?

  • Hi Joyce,

I had a MRI and a CT scan between my cystcopy and my first TURBT and I think they're fairly common in the process.

I didn't actually get any results and had to ask my consultant about both scans. I'm not really sure what chart you're referring to, but I'm sure someone will be along soon to assist with this.

Have you had any scans yet?

It's all very daunting for sure. Hope you get your results back soon.

    • Thanks Trevor. They said it was standard practice. But cheery doctor at cystoscopy is the one who said ‘just checking etc’   Daunting is a good description. Now I’m worrying about my kidneys and google says good liver function blood results are not necessarily reassuring. I’m so glad tho you are on a good path
  • My chart I think is a kings hospital app.

  • Hi JoyceF

My First CT scan I was shown at my first TURBT then I had a second one before my follow up TURBT they sent me a letter with their findings fully explained within it this was also on my NHS app and my patient access app and obviously online also hope this helps

  • Hi Joyce,Try to stay off Dr Google as it will just make you more anxious. That was the first piece of advice I got here back in 2019.The scans are routine.I only had CT’s but some get MRI’s,CT’s and sometimes pet scans.I know my partner doesn’t get all his hospital results on his app but hopefully someone here will know about what they do at Kings.Love Jane xx

  • Thank you. I’m just so edgy that I’ll get more bad news

  • Thanks Jane. I will stay off dr Google!! Thank you for your help xx

  • Hi JoyceF

We all know that feeling all to well it’s very early Days for you and the anxiety does improve with time just take it an appointment and scan at a time and once they have done what they need to get your treatment planned and discussed it with you then you will feel better

  • Thanks. Good advice

  • If you can try to do as Ste has suggested it will help.We know how horrible these early days are but you will feel better once you know more.Jane xx
