Hi Mandymay . BCG stands for Bacillus Calmette Guerin. It is an immunotherapy treatment designed to mop up any rogue cells and help prevent recurrences. It is administered directly in to the bladder usually for an initial 6 week course. It triggers the body's own immune system to act on abnormal cells. It is a weakened variant of the vaccine used to treat tuberculosis. Used mainly for non invasive bladder cancer. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
