Im new to the group, so hello everyone, i was due a cystoscope to investigate why I was passing blood & clots when peeing, on the day of the appointment I was told that the procedure wouldn’t be going a head as the ct scan had shown a tumour in my bladder and I would need a TURBT, the obvious question I asked was “ is it cancer, to which the reply was yes” I was also informed that the CT had shown abnormalities on my lungs which I really wasn’t expecting, has anyone had this before and what was it?
I know not everyone’s diagnosis is the same, but just trying to piece things together rather than consulting Dr Google
Hi Vision and welcome to the group although sorry to hear of your diagnosis. We know how anxious the early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be, but we also know bladder cancer can be treated successfully. Lung nodules are common and crop up on here now and again and in many cases are harmless. I was told I had a lung nodule when I was first diagnosed but it has not changed in many years. Hopefully that may be the same for you. A TURBT is a fairly straightforward procedure in the great scheme of things. In many cases done in day surgery but prepare for an overnight. They will scrape away what they can and take some biopsies . The results of the biopsy will determine the next step. Many here have been through this or are going through treatment so always somebody here to answer questions or to just talk. Best wishes.
