Hi all,
Hope you are okay.
I am looking for some advice regarding pain management for my mum.
My mum has been diagnosed with bladder squamous cell carcinoma. Unfortunately, it is not curable and she is currently on a clinical trial called Aurora, atezolizumab immunotherapy.
I was wondering if anyone can offer some practical advice to help with pain as the current medication is only doing so much. We are in contact with nurses, doctors etc.
My mum uses a water bottle to help ease the pain, is there anything else anyone can advise would help?
Thank you
Michelle
Hi Michelle,Welcome to the group.I’m so sorry that your mum isn’t curable.I had this type too and it was painful. All I can suggest is to make sure your mum is drinking enough and to try and avoid any food or drinks that are too acidic.I found onions, tomatoes, cranberries and anything citrus caused the most pain but that was when I had a chronic bladder condition pre cancer. It might be worth trying just in case it helps.I wish your mum well with the immunotherapy.Best wishes Jane
