My dad was diagnosed with a rare type of bladder cancer, spindle cell a few weeks ago. He was told yesterday that the cancer has now spread to his lymph nodes and stomach. It doesn’t respond to chemotherapy or radiotherapy. I know I should be strong for him and my mum, but I am devastated.
Hello Spp and welcome to this friendly group. Of course you are devastated, there's no guilt in that.
You and your Mum could register with your local Carers' Association. The support offered does vary from place to place, but may be very helpful. Many hospitals also have Macmillan centres where you can drop in for face to face support, and there is the helpline 8-8 seven days a week.
I'm sure others here and or on the terminal cancer group will have useful things to say. I just didn't want you to wait any longer for a first reply as I happened to be here.
