Hi, my husband had a turbt where a large tumour was removed they said they dug down as far as possible but some tumour left. Its 9 weeks later and for 7 of that he's been getting pain every day, its usually worse about 6pm. Has anyone else had this, he was told just to take pain relief and when he starts chemo it should start to go.
Hi Channie1 . It usually takes up to six weeks for the wound to fully heal, but for most people the pain subsides within a week or two. it may be worthwhile giving the urology dept. a ring for advice. There should be a phone number on the discharge notes. There is always the possibility of infection, so it may be an idea to drop a sample at the GPs to check. I hope he feels better soon. Best wishes.
Hi, thanks rily, we met with his consultant and told him but he just said take paracetamol, then told the oncologist on Monday and he said the same, spoke to the nurse and same again. He's been taking paracetamol then ibuprofen at bedtime. Will just have to hope the chemo helps it.
