Hi there, joined the Cancer Support forum 2 yrs ago with the diagnosis & death within 24 hrs, of my Mum . Little did I know 2yrs later I’d join a different branch as an actual inside member.!! After 5 wks peeing blood, a CT scan last week, I was told yesterday I have a tumour in my bladder, which took a whole 10mins with Consultant, confirmed by the scan. Strangely enough the behaviour of my dog over last few wks, told me all I needed to know.!! More scans to come for any possible spread, removal of tumour, biopsy inc results and any further treatment is in the near weeks, but at least I’m in the right place for a good outcome.
best wishes to all at any stage.
Hi JuDoo and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear of your Mum and now that you may have bladder cancer. Strange how dogs can pick these things up. Tough times for you, but be aware bladder cancer can be treated successfully. The next step for you should be a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour). It sounds worse than it is. Usually done in day surgery, but prepare for an overnight stay. Biopsies will determine the next step. Scans are just precautionary and standard practice. Many of us have been there so always someone to answer questions. Best wishes.
