Hi all I hope your all doing well. I'm just after some advice if that's ok. I have a cystoscopy this Tuesday along with an ultrasound. Back in March I thought I had a UTI as I was going to the toilet a lot more than normal was getting out if breath quicker and had a bit of a cough. The doctor did a dip test I had no infection but i did have blood. I was sent for an ultra sound and chest xray. 3 months I had to wait for my follow up appointment both tests were satisfactory but still had blood in urine. I've now been fast tracked and along with the letter is a little cancer leaflet. I've read the symptoms and the only one I have is the blood which isn't noticeable and I feel full quite quick but that's not a symptom from what I've read.
I was just wondering what everyone else's first symptoms were if you don't mind me asking.
Thank you for reading
Hi 50Something.
Welcome to the group. My symptom was blood in the wee. Although mine didn't really look like blood, it was more cloudy.
As soon as the Dr dipped test my urine I was fast tracked to be checked out. They found a tumor, also had a CT scan and MRI.
Two TURBTs later they confirmed they tumor was cancerous and that they had removed it.
Now on BCG treatments to hopefully stop it coming back.
Best of wishes to you.
Hi 50Something . I've had over 20 flexible cystoscopies over he years and usually in and out within 20 minutes. I hope all goes well for you. Best wishes.
Thank you Rily. It sounds like you've certainly been through the mill.

Hi,I dont know if i should go ahead with the BCG treatment. I am the same as you and had the tumour removed in march and it was non-invasive but aftyer having a few catheters fitted i kept getting retention and have only just got back to normal.I am worried about the bcg catheters giving me retention again as i could not cope with going home with a catheter fitted again. I am also worried that the bcg could damage my bladder lining and none of the doctors have been willing to talk to me about my fears.
