Hi all I hope your all doing well. I'm just after some advice if that's ok. I have a cystoscopy this Tuesday along with an ultrasound. Back in March I thought I had a UTI as I was going to the toilet a lot more than normal was getting out if breath quicker and had a bit of a cough. The doctor did a dip test I had no infection but i did have blood. I was sent for an ultra sound and chest xray. 3 months I had to wait for my follow up appointment both tests were satisfactory but still had blood in urine. I've now been fast tracked and along with the letter is a little cancer leaflet. I've read the symptoms and the only one I have is the blood which isn't noticeable and I feel full quite quick but that's not a symptom from what I've read.
I was just wondering what everyone else's first symptoms were if you don't mind me asking.
Thank you for reading
Evening Wally i appreciate everyone's reply and I'm sure your all knowledgeable in your own way as you have all been through it so I'm thank full for any feedback. Hope you've enjoyed this rainy weekend.

Hi Jane thank you for your reply. I have to have an ultra sound on my kidneys beforehand so I have to drink plenty before that but I will make sure I carry it after the procedure. I hope your doing well and your right this seems such a friendly group.
Thank you I will keep you updated.

Cystoscopy usually only takes a few minutes. At my hospital you don’t even have to put on a gown, just remove clothes below the waist.I hope they don’t keep you waiting.
I've been told to take a dressing gown so hopefully I won't need it. The letter just says you may have to wait if they have an emergency in so hopefully not. Glad it doesn't take long.

They may make you put a gown on then.It does vary from hospital to hospital.I always used to have to go to the day theatre for them in the years before I got cancer. In more recent times it was in a room divided in two,one half for the cystoscopy and the other to chat to the uro after. The last one I had my partner had only just parked his car and was coming to find me as I was walking out.It had been less than 10’minutes ! It’s not painful just a little uncomfy for a few seconds when the scope goes in.You will probably be able to watch on the screen if you want.Depends on whether you want to and if there is a screen in the room.
