Hi, I am 58 and very new to the community, and in fact very new to the journey.
I was passing blood at the start of May and having ruled out infection, my GP fast tracked me for a Cystoscopy where a tumour on my bladder was spotted. I have now had a TURBT and two small tumours have been removed and I am that land of limbo between Op and results. I have a scheduled CT scan tomorrow (Friday 15) which has come out of the blue, and a call with my surgeon on the 18th July, which I assume is to outline what they have found
Hi kaspont and welcome to the group. Sorry you find yourself here but you will get lots of support and help here as you go forward. Your story will be familiar to many of us. We know how the early days of uncertainty can be scary. Once a treatment plan is in place things become a bit less stressful as you have something to focus on. Don't be alarmed by the CT scan. It is routine, mainly to rule anything else out and it helps with treatment plans. Lots of us have been through this or currently undergoing treatment, so feel free to ask anything. Best wishes.
Hi kaspont,
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like they caught it early. When I was diagnosed I also had a CT scan, so that is pretty standard I believe.
I've had two TURBTs and was told that the cancer had been removed and that I needed treatment to stop it coming back. Which meant 6weeks of BCG, which has been fine.
Best of luck with your diagnosis.
Hi Kaspont, welcome to the forum. I had same as you last June CT scan and 2 turbts, tumours removed, I had multiple and high grade etc but had the bcg and doing OK at the moment, in a different place to last year so it does get better. It's all strange when it comes out of the blue but good support on here. Everyone understands it all on here.
Hi Kaspont
I was diagnosed in Jan of this year,, such a shock, I had the tumours all removed end of Feb with no further treatment and yesterday I had my 3 month camera check and still all clear
I will be checked again in 9 months but as of now I am cancer free, I understand it is very scary but until you get biopsies results you won't know the type and stage of the cancer. BC is very treatable now days, love Tina x
