Hi I'm home yesterday after 24 hours in Northampton General hospital, all very kind. I had turbt and chemo for 1 hour all as expected but I have terrible constipation this morning so feeling uncomfortable, did anyone else find this. Could there have been advanced warning.I have taken 1 dulcolax but it will take time to work
Hi Lady Terry and welcome to the group. It is not unusual to have some bowel issues following a TURBT. It is important to keep drinking plenty of water. 2-3 litres a day is recommended. I hope the dulcolax has an effect. Obviously if things don't improve, contact the medics. Have you been allocated a CNS ( clinical/cancer nurse specialist) ? Best wishes.
Hi Lady Terry
I had bad constipation for about 3 days after, think its the pain meds
Was like trying to pass a tennis ball
Good luck, Tina X
Thanks rily, yes I was given hospital Macmillan contact details and information sheet about turbt when first told I needed it to be done. Glad to find this forum for support or chat with others, I have the follow up appointment in 2 weeks
Apologies for that but at least we can maybe have room to joke about it, I wish Last Terry and Tina both well of course.
Good afternoon Lady Terry. How are you today. I too was having TURBT on 30 March and spent a night in hospital . I have no problems with regard to passing sports equipment but my bladder has taken on a separate life which does not accord to my timescale or proximate to appropriate facilities, also a bit sore. I’m hoping the next day or two will see me back to normal. I’m drinking copious quantities of Robinsons lemon barley and my normal dose of co codomol. I hope you’ll soon be back to normal, kind regards, John.
Hello John, trust you will be back on your feet and hopefully feeling a lot better. I'm sure my bladder has its own lifestyle it certainly doesn't seem to do what I want it to.
Take care, Chris
Glad you have had it done at last John, hope you recover well all the best tracey
