After being diagnosed last July with grade 3 PT1, 2 turbts abd it being suggested to have bladder etc removed, I opted to try the bcg/mitomycin heated in bladder at Guys, after my camera check and biopsies on 7th March I can thankfully say no cancer in biopsies and allowed to continue with 3 more BGC maintenance, to say I am relieved would be an understatement but wanted to share my good news and long may it continue, onto planning a few months of nice things now as apposed to hospital visits. I know still have to continue with bcg but I will stay strong and positive. I am so glad to have read many many posts on this forum which helped with my decision making. Thank you all.
I’m really happy for you, thanks for posting this.xx
Thats great news. Glad they are treating you. I have same grade3p t1. But am still trying to find out why ive not been offered bcg or mitomycin since diagnosed in 2021. Had 1 turbt and recently diathermy during routine cystoscopy for 3 minor recurrences. Im not getting any answers so far. Glad you are getting the treatment.
Did they suggest to you removal of bladder, both surgeons I saw said that would be the best pathway but I went for the other option bcg, I am surprised they haven't offered you it. Mind you I have not heard about diathermy, maybe you did not have very much cancer and they felt to remove and do diathermy was enough. I had large multifocal tumours and there was even bit more on the second Turbt, so it was high risk.
