Same as most in here with the BCG TREATMENT. I have every time. UTI. I wish could get the antibiotics at the hospital cus not like the old days just turn up and make an appointment, no. You have to call then told. Call at 8am. That's if you get through. Mine is over 30 mins no chance of appointment in the time as all taken. Also such bad diarrhea this time spent more time in the loo then standing. So next day. Bidy exhausted. Eating immodium tabs like sweets .
Abdominal pains just could not cope so cross fingers for Monday and get through by phone and then these bloody receptionist determin if your call good enough to see a doctor.....
I'm the same before going out. We're are the toilets , can't enjoy days out like this ....to plan such days
Since 2023 when all this began my skin more sensitive to the sun..
Is it like for anyone have a bloated tummy. look 5 months pregnant...put such weight on now. 11 stone.
And yes have the right food......
All the best to everyone
Hi TheresaD . Sorry to hear you have been suffering with UTIs following BCG. I have not had BCG so not much help. As regards the UTIs, my local pharmacy can now test urine sample and prescribe antibiotics. The GP surgery actually refer people to the pharmacy rather than making a surgery appointment. Best wishes.
Hello Theresa
I had a few UTIs and I also ended up with a nasty thrush infection in my bladder.
my GP surgery offer a service where you provide a sample of urine in the morning if you suspect or have symptoms of a UTI, they do dip tests at the surgery before sending the sample to the hospital for full screening. If their initial dip tests show signs of infections, they usually prescribe a course of antibiotics right away. It may be worth asking your local GP surgery if they may offer a similar service under the circumstances.
Unfortunately the antibiotic they use for urine infections (nitrofurantoin) has some very nasty side-effects,
Good luck
