Ok, despite its dad who is the owner of both Bladder and Liver its actually me thats lost. He has been epic since his first diagnosis over 3 yrs ago, and his resillience is simply stunning and has seen him through Chemo, radiation and SIRTS.
We recieved the second pat on the knee so sorry chat two weeks ago.
As his only staple, for company, and occasional cook, cleaner, bottle washer, bringer of jokes, and vital supplies not to mention Taxi. All these things I can do but feel unprepared and clueless to answer what do we do now, who, when, a whole bunch of H and W questions is there anything out there to support him.
That aside my main focus and worry right now is keeping weight on him as he is routinely 'famine and feasting' with attacks of inappetance does anyone want to share combatting strategies?
My thanks in advance ' Dads Taxi '
Hi Dads Taxi,Welcome to our friendly group.I hope you will find some support and advice here.Eating little but often may help to kickstart the appetite.Following weight loss after surgery I ate cheese and biscuits, sandwich thins with cheese or meat, soup, jacket potatoes, yoghurts, rice pudding and snack type foods. The chemist may be able to recommend something to help.In the past I have used complan and build up.I had special drinks from the hospital.Best wishes Jane

I've got the vitamin support drinks, and now the shakes. I try keeping his calories up by using my best recipies and adding the extra cals, stimulating interest with variety as he tends to stick one thing. I try to hijack his routine plans with meals out, coupled sights and pre prompt by talking about past loves of food like 99 icecream a day or so before hijacking his plans suggesting we go grab one. I can get him to graze as long as im there but, I desparately need him to want to eat. His appetite has fallen through the floor, stuck on trainers and taken off down the high street.
Any and all advice gratefully received.
