HI I'm new here and have recently had 2 surgeries to remove tumours from my bladder. I am waiting for the results of a recent PET scan to determine if the cancer has spread and how aggressive it is and am obviously in the denial stage at present. I am very fortunate in that I have the support of my employer as well as several friends, some of whom also have cancers but it is still scary. I believe once I know how bad it is, I will be able to adjust to coping with it.
Hi Mr Grumpy and welcome to tis friendly and supportive group. The early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be very stressful. Once you get a treatment plan in place, you have something positive to focus on. The scan is routine, just to rule anything else out and give them a bigger picture of what they are dealing with. Be aware that bladder cancer can be treated successfully and many here have been through it. Feel free to ask any questions, lots of experience here. Best wishes.
Hi Mr Grumpy.
I've also recently had two operations (TURBT) and can appreciate the wait for the results can be very worrying.
I'm also very lucky to have a very understanding employer, which means one less thing to worry about.
Finger's crossed for you and your results.
Best wishes.
