Hi I had a small tumour removed this Tuesday. Fortunately only a small one 5 mm. I am due to go on a walking holiday on 23rd March, only 4 weeks away and wondering whether to cancel or not. Some of the walks are 14k and marked as medium to hard. I’m generally very fit but really unsure whether it’s wise to go or not. I’m finding there is so much conflicting advice on returning to previous activity levels.
Hi John61,
I was told no excessive exercises until 4weeks. I like the gym and training by weights and running. I waited the four weeks before I started running again and had no problems. I haven't returned to the gym yet as I had to have another operation (2nd TURBT) pretty soon after.
I guess everyone is different. Would it be possible to go on the holiday and if you don't feel up to the harder walks to miss these one's out?
I'm no expert, and this is just my personal experience, but I actually felt okay after the four weeks. I would also be interested in hearing other people's experiences.
Hope you have a great holiday if you do go.
Kindest regards.
The other thing that’s not clear to me is how much you should walk post surgery generally. I usually walk my dog for 45 minutes in the morning but leaving that to my sons at present mainly because I’m just unsure how much I should be doing.
