I was booked into local hospital for a flexible cystoscopy on November 29th and here I am, just 3 days later having been for my pre-op, due a CT scan on Sunday and a TURBT on December 13th. Incredibly lucky with the speed and attention.
All a bit overwhelming really. What started out as a suspected stone, or even appendicitis, turns out to be a tumour.
It's been ever so reassuring to read the comments of others on here and I "look forward" to sharing my journey, if you will let me.
Incidentally, I've never been a fan of Christmas singles, but this year I dislike them even more for what they are doing to my eyes, they seem to water every time I hear one!
Hi Neil Mac and a warm welcome to the group. I am sure you will get plenty of support as you go forward. Good to know things have moved fast for you. It is usually the long waits and uncertainty that causes the most anxiety. Good timing as you should be recovered enough to enjoy Christmas. The TURBT procedure is usually fairly straightforward in the great scheme of things. Stings a bit when peeing for a few days, but otherwise, most people can get back to normal after a day or so. Just be aware, nothing strenuous for a few weeks and drink plenty of water to keep things flushed out. Keep us posted and feel free to ask anything. Many of us have been through it. Best wishes.
