  1. We are off on our first holiday since my husband had his bladder removed and now obviously uses urostomy bags. His stoma nurse has been great and given us letters etc to show to anyone who may ask. Ue if he us searched or they see his equipment in our hand luggage. Just wondering if he will.be allowed to.take the delay adhesive remover in hand luggage or if I should pack I  hold luggage.
  • Is it a spray? I take a small spray can of adhesive remover and put it in my clear liquids bag in hand luggage. Anything under 100ml each item is fine in there. Hope you have a lovely holiday!

  • Have a great time

  • Tinker - I took all my emergency bag change kit. including the spray, in hand luggage on a flight to Madiera recentlly. With main supplies in hold case. I had no problems at security either way. Colorplast, my equipment supplier provided a "Passport" type document explaining the need for the items, which i listed on it, but wasn't even asked about it. Best to split your supplies, just in case a bag should go missing, as does unfortunately happen from time to time!

  • I’ve also never been asked about any of my supplies, and no longer put anything in my hold luggage just in case of a missing bag. We divide all supplies up between us and take everything in hand luggage now. I can’t imagine the horror of arriving at my destination and my bag not arriving with me!

  •  Just a quick question, do you need any special travel insurance to travel by plane? I've gone to France, but usually by ferry or tunnel and took plenty of supplies.

  • Nothing special required other than having to declare the medical condition, particularly if having active treatment, as the risk assessors would need to decide how good, bad or average a risk you are!

With my ever growing list of items in my medical history, I am now virtually uninsureable, particularly if going anywhere that would be very expensive for treatment and repatriation i.e. USA and Carribean islands. I could get insurance, but at very prohibitive cost, far more than the actual holiday.

So I go at my own risk now, assuming a travel company will take me, without suitable cover.
