I had my ct scan today, now everything seems real. Totally framed out in case this has spread any further than the bladder muscle. God only knows what the next week is going to be like waiting for the results.
I'm really hoping to just have a bladder removal & maybe that'll be the end of it, or is it just my wishful thinking x
Hi Rachel, waiting for results is nerve wracking. I managed to stay pretty cool until the day of results. fingers crossed for you that you get a good result.
I tried not to think the worst nor best. I looked at all the possible scenarios i may have faced had the results gone this way or that way.
Keep us informed how its going. And there's nothing wrong with wishful thinking.......Del.
Hi Rachel72.. Yes, the waiting is always an anxious time. It may be a bit longer than you hope. It takes a week or so to analyse the images, and then a further wait for an appointment to discuss results. I had a scan a few weeks ago and got my results by letter. All good thankfully. Just try and remember, these scan are to rule things out rather than rule things in. Best wishes.
Hi Rachel,
Try not to put the cart before the horse. The early days are usually the worse because your waiting for results and wondering what treat options you will be offered. I had radical cystectomy five years ago and live a pretty normal and active life.
I had my 6 monthly scan about 4 weeks ago and get my results Tuesday. I'm post treatment and not a priority hence the gap and even though the results are likely to be good, you still get a certain amount of anxiety. Try and do things to take your mind off things and hopefully the waiting will be all over soon with good news.
Stay in touch, we're here to help.
The CT scan is normal, just to give the whole picture, so try not to read more into it. Provided no sign of spread, then surgery (& follow up) will be all. they may recommend chemo either before or after surgery for belt & braces if there is any sign of spread. Just take things a step at a time. Hope you can enjoy the good weather (if you have it where you are) & the Easter w/e.
