Just wanted to say hello. I've read through many of the threads on here as i try to come terms with having being told i have a 40mm tumour in my bladder.
It is so sad how many are being diagnosed with cancer and yet inspirational to see how so many face up to it.
I was blown away with my diagnosis 3 weeks ago. A 9cm tumour on/in my kidney and a 40mm tumour in my bladder.
I had an op cancelled last week, to remove tumour in bladder, as i had an infection. And have a new date for 11th March.
I feel fine. It's all a bit surreal. In fact i would say there's been some mistake but i did see the tumour on screen beside me.
Now, like everyone else that has been this way, i'm eagerly dreading my op and results to follow.
So, Hello.
Hi Deloo and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but I am sure you will get plenty of support here going forward. We know how scary this can be for you, but be aware that bladder cancer can be treated successfully. If you don't know already, the op you will be having is called a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour (sounds worse than it is) . Usually done in day surgery, but prepare for an overnight stay. Then an anxious few weeks waiting for results of biopsies. This dictates where you go from there. I've no experience of kidney problems, but lots of experience here to answer any questions or just chat if you want to as we understand. Best wishes.
Hi Ian. I do intend to post what's happening to me. My feelings are quite in order at the moment. However, i do realise that this is still early days and i will, overtime, probably get worn down and sorry for myself as i'm sure many peeople do.
I have a great wife who sadly is taking this harder than me at the moment. But she is a wonder of the world, a force of nature, and she'll get it together soon. I'm very lucky in that way.
Hi Deloo. You say you will probably start feeling sorry for yourself and I think many of us have gone through that phase. Things tend to change once you get on the treatment path as you then have something positive to focus on. This is a one step at a time process, so focus on each step as it comes along. Good to know you have a very supportive wife, it really does help. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
