Hi all. I am new here and just wanted to know has anyone been diagnosed with 3 cm lesion in bladder.?

best wishes to all

  • Hi and welcome to the group. I think most of us would have started with something similar. I was never given any specific size, Just told it was a mass. Is there anything specific you would like to know? Any background information would help people answering. Lots of experience here to help and support you. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi there hope you’re well and thanks for reply.

ive been unwell for 2 years with many uti infections.

just had cystoscope today and said they found a lesion that looks like cancer. They plan to take it out and find out more after.

I just wondered if anyone had this and what comes next.

just so worried and upset at moment.

    brst wishes

  • Hi . Yes there are many of us here who have had or are going through bladder cancer. We know and understand how you must be feeling at the moment. If it does turn out to be BC, then be aware treatment can be successful. The next step is usually an operation called a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour). Sounds worse than it is. Done the same way as your flexible cystoscopy but with a rigid cystoscope under general anaesthetic. Any abnormal cells will be scraped away and biopsies sent off for analysis. Often done in day surgery, but prepare for an overnight. Results of the biopsies will determine the next step. You may also be sent for a CT scan which gives them a bigger picture. Hope that's not too much info. Best wishes.

  • Thanks so much and best wishes to you.

I think I’m just at the shock stage at moment

    kind regards

  • Hi,It does feel overwhelming.I had pre-cencerous changes for 14 years but it was still a shock when they turned into cancer.Do you have supportive family and friends ? Love Jane

  • Thanks for reply Jane.

I do have my grown up children but I can’t bring myself to talk without breaking down.

im more worried for them than myself.I just feeling can’t put them through this sadness.

    best wishes

  • The time waiting for results, tests and treatment is usually the worst. Most people find that once a treatment plan is in place they feel easier.Don’t be afraid to break down if you feel sad.Trying to stay strong and positive all the time will only put you under pressure. My sister supported me and we shed a few tears together at the start.I hope you can share some of your sadness. If you can’t talk with family then perhaps you could speak to someone at Macmillan ? We are all here for you.Love Jane x

  • Hi Waffledog, do consider calling the Macmillan helpline, the perfect understanding listening ear. Unless and until you discover your particular cancer is already muscle invasive or one of the rarer kinds it really shouldn't make you be sadly thinking 'the worst' at the moment. My husband's whole bladder looked like inside out cauliflower with lesions but that was 4 years ago and they are all gone now. He has checkups every 3 or 6 months.
