Hi I'm new on here and just trying to get my head around the fact my husband has a probable low level carcinoma in his bladder. He's having a biopsy soon and a shot of chemotherapy at the same time. I guess I'm just not sure what to expect. It's the waiting for the biopsy to take place. Just needed to find others to chat with. Feel quite alone with it all even though I've got very supportive family and friends. Thank you x
Hi and welcome to the group, although sorry to hear about your husband. We understand how scary a cancer diagnosis can be, but be aware, bladder cancer can be treated successfully and there are many of us here to tell the tale. The op your husband will have is called a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour). It sounds worse than it is. Usually done in day surgery, but prepare for an overnight stay. Biopsies will be sent of for analysis and results determine the next step. Always someone here to talk to or answer any questions. It does help to share your emotions here with people who understand. Best wishes.
Yes rily is so helpful and so are so many others on the forum.. this is such a scary time for you both bur once the turbt has been done a plan of treatment will be put in place and you'll feel reassurance to know things are being done ..I was diagnosed last December and thought it was the end of the world but I'm good thankfully...I am monitored regularly so please try not to make yourself stress too much ...easier said than done but try to take one day at a time sending you love Tina xx
Thank you Tina so glad to hear you're ok that's brilliant, my husband is the cool as a cucumber type whereas I'm already thinking what if etc...I don't mean to be negative but my husband lost 2 business partners from cancer within 2 years of each other so I'm not going to lie about not being scared. I've also lost 3 close friends too from cancer. It's very helpful hearing from others and their experiences. Thank you so much and sending love to you too xx
