I have received fabulous treatment from my GP and more recently the Urology team. I had a tumour removed during a TUBT surgery, and a short time after get called in to discuss the MDT team findings. The tumour was removed, although it had spread into the the urator and I have a significant amount of carcinoma in situ. The urologist advised me that I needed a radical cystoprostactectomy and a left nephrouretectomy. This surgery is urgently required, but a ct scan showed a ? On a T1 vertebrae, so I needed an MRI scan to have a closer look. I understand that this will potentially alter the course of my treatment. Notwithstanding all of the above, I wanted to shout out for the incredible NHS, we are so fortunate and privileged to have  . The rich cultural diversity of the staff made my short stay much more interesting, I hope my next time which will of course be very much longer will be punctuated by such colourful and friendly staff. So thank you GP’s andNHS staff for taking care of me.

  • Hello and welcome to the community and our corner of it. It is really good the way they look after us. Early days for you yet and they will do all they can to get a full picture of what they are dealing with before going ahead. Many people here who have have had radical cystectomies and will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the op. Hopefully the vertebrae problem will be resolved. Wishing you well. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

Thanks Rily. It’s good to see that your journey has got you to the stage of being signed off. I am sure it is a relief for you and your family. As you say early days for me, I just wanted to post a positive view of my engagement with our NHS during this terrible pandemic.
