Evening all, I’ve been offered my covid and flu jabs… while I’m having the BCG treatment is it ok to have them?
love to all Nigel xx

  • Hi Nigel, I was told by my nurse not to have the jab 2 weeks before the treatment and leave it for 2 weeks after treatment. I think its probably best to check with your CNS .

Hope you are ok friend. I was at buxton fc today watching a cracking game of footy, it had everything you want from a game including hailstones at the end. it was bloomin cold on the terraces, no heated seats or anything lol. Take care

    Much love Angela x

  • Hi Nigel. According to Action Bladder Cancer UK, it is advisable to have a 2 week gap before or after BCG treatment to have the vaccines, but always best to check with your team. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Angela, I’m gonna leave it for a bit…I’m very well thank you, I hope you’re ok as well.
I used to go to watch Leyton Orient when Tottenham were away…( before I started going away with Spurs) you can’t beat getting soaked and sitting on a train wet to the bone…lol.. real football…

    love Nigel xx

  • Hi Rily, thank you… I’m gonna leave it for a while…

    I start BCG in November…

    how are you?

    Nigel xx

  • Hi Nigel. I am doing well at the moment. Thanks for asking. Recent flexi clear. Had my annual CT a couple of weeks ago but heard nothing so far. Getting a bit lazy these days. The dog is getting old and doesn't like walking too far so I am not getting my long walks. Need to gee myself up and get going again. I hope all goes well with your BCG. Bear in mind, we generally only see people who have problems with it. We rarely hear from the many who sail through it. BCG has been the main treatment for NIBC for well over 50 years, so there must be something in it. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Rily, the first six have been fine… biopsies have come back clear…so all good there…

Try not to get too lazy …lol… it’s easily done…

  • Hi Rob, I have never read or heard that it would be a problem having covid and flu while having BCG although personally,  I would  would have it a few days before or after BCG treatment session just in case any side affects other than a sore arm.

  •    If scheduled for a RC, then you are advised not to have the Covid and Flu jab any closer than 4 weeks to your operation date.
