Hello everyone, I played golf this morning where it was very warm albeit with a pleasant breeze. This afternoon grey skies have appeared a change from the very hot and sunny weather we have enjoyed all week. Apart from overnight rain on Wednesday we have had no bad weather, thunderstorms or flash floods here in Lancashire. I hope everyone is safe and well. I put new spikes in my golf shoes the other day. Is it me? or do simple 10 minute jobs appear to take much longer these days. Anyway it’s Friday- curry night. Tandoori chicken, simple green salad and naan bread tonight. Tonight’s cooking music is “ Anymore for Anymore” - deluxe edition from the late Ronnie Lane of the Faces and Small Faces fame. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Garviv

All this talk of food is making me hungry And Lovely Hubby and I have just decided that we need to go on a diet and lose some weight..........now where did I hide the chocolate

My secret weight management tool is sesame crispbread. It's so tasty even if dry, that I happily use it to 'half and half' less balanced things.
Eg with an afternoon cuppa, one crispbread and one half scone. Also I read somewhere that ftas are more fattening than sugars in moderation. So I put jam but not butter on the half scone. Overall it works for me. And two squares a day of dark chocolate, keep it in the fridge so it lasts longer in your mouth.
